Plan of Procedures for ROV Arm Device
The arm needs to be made out of a PVC
piece. It will be rectangular and have a long cut out so that a screw can go
through it to move the grasping device.

Part P1: Body
1.
Use
the ruler (T5) and pencil (T4) to measure a ½”x4” slot onto each half centered
on the big piece of rectangular PVC pipe (M1).
2.
Cut
out the measurements on the PVC (M1) using the ban saw (T1).
3.
Place
P1 aside
Part
P2: Smaller piece
1.
Use
ruler (T5) and pencil (T4) to measure a ¼” inch “V” in the top center of the
smaller rectangular piece (M2).
2.
Cut
out the measurement on the PVC (M2) using the scroll saw (T6).
3.
Round
the top edges of the PVC (M2) using the belt sander (T2).
4.
Measure
two circles using the circle template (T8) and the pencil (T4) centered on each
side of the rounded edges of the PVC (M2).
5.
Cut
the two circles out of the PVC (M2) using a dremel (T3).
6.
Place
P2 aside.
Part
P3: Tongs
1.
Cut
aluminum tongs (M2) into a 5 inch ½” half circle using the ban saw (T1).
2.
Smooth
out the tongs (P3) using the belt sander (T2).
3.
Measure
two circles using the circle template (T8) and the pencil (T4) 1” from the
center on each side from the center of the PVC piece (P3).
4.
Measure
two circles using the circle template (T8) and the pencil (T4) 4” from the
center on each side from the center of the PVC piece (P3).
5.
Cut
out the circles using the dremel (T3).
Part
P4: Connecter piece
1.
Measure
using ruler (T5) 2 2” pieces.
2.
Cut
out pieces using the ban saw (T1).
3.
Measure
two circles using the circle template (T8) and the pencil (T4) on each end of
the pieces (P4) centered
4.
Cut
out circles using the dremel (T3).
5.
Place
P4 aside.

Assembly
1.
Place
P2 on top of P1.
3.
Make
sure washers (S3) are top of P2 and on the bottom of P1.
4.
Place
screw ends (S4) at the bottom of the screw.
6.
Place
arm (P3) onto body (P2).
8.
Attach
connecter pieces (P4) onto the arm (P3) through the last two empty holes with
the screws (S2), washers (S3), and screw ends (S4).
